Cup of Tea in Wonderland

Britney here! I am so excited to be on the Pawsome Stamps blog today featuring the Cup of Tea stamp set. When I saw this set, I immediately wanted to make something with an Alice and Wonderland vibe.

If you have ever read any of my blog posts before, I like to start with making the background. I cut a panel out of a coordinating color cardstock using an A2 rectangle die. I cut another panel out of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock with a slightly smaller stitched rectangle die. I wanted to create a nice frame around the image. I used the smaller panel to create the background of my scene. I used a hill stencil and inked on a little green and a little brown to create a trail to the house. I then used a stencil to create a cloudy sky. I added some ink splatters to create some interest.

Using the Misti Stamping Tool and using a Copic friendly ink, stamp images onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. After stamping stacked cup image, I masked of the bottle cup so I could stamp the teapot to make it appear as one cohesive image. Use your favorite color medium to color in the images. I used Copics to color in my images. You can fussy cut the images. I used my Scan and Cut machine to cut these images. Use a white gel pen to create some highlights and a black glaze pen on the nose and eyes of the hedgehog to give them some shine.

Stamping an image and sentiment on the inside finishes the card off nicely. It is easier to stamp an image and/or sentiment on the inside of the card before adhering the card panel to the base. The bulk of the foam tape can make it difficult to get a good impression using a Misti Stamping tool. I stamped the image with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide and used Versafine Ink for the sentiments.

To complete the front panel of the card, lay out images to determine perfect placement and, stamped the sentiment, before popping up the images using foam tape and gluing everything else down using a liquid adhesive. Use a strong adhesive to attach the card panel to the card base. To complete the card, add Glossy Accents to the glass of the windows to give it a nice shine. I added Nuvo Drops in White Blizzard to the wings of the bees and the butterfly.

I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Have a wonderful day and make sure to check out all the goodies in the Pawsome Stamps shop
