Clean and Simple pencil coloring: A ruff life

Hi guys, Julie here with you today and I am sharing a clean and simple card using the Ruff life stamp set. I have been loving my poly chromos pencils lately and I wanted to challenge myself by making a simple one layer card with no line coloring. Since I am in the Fall mood, I wanted to use oranges for this project.

I started by die cutting a panel of Kraft cardstock to have a stitched border. Then, I stamped the image with Versamark ink. This ink leaves kind of a watermark on the paper, so it helps with the no line coloring. After that, I colored the image with my poly chromos.

It took me quite some time to achieve the final look, but the one advise I have for you is to not be afraid to add shadows with grey or black pencil. I wanted to add dimension to my piece, and I achieved it by deepening the shadows and adding grey or black pencils. It makes my image look more realistic.

After I finished my coloring, I added a sentiment strip and a black border. The sentiment translates to "be kind with yourself", and I think that it was perfect with the feeling that the card had. Then, I foam mounted the panel on a A2 white card base. Overall, it took me a lot of time coloring this image, but the result is fantastic. I had so much fun with my pencils! I rarely make a one layer card like that but it was worth it. Sometimes, simple is best, and the image of that comes with the stamp set works really well for a card like that, since I takes a lot of space.

I hope you liked my project today, thank you for stopping by and have an awesome day!
