"Hang In There" Friend

Hello crafty friends! Today, I have an adorable slimline shaker card featuring the cute "Playful Panda's" set. I'm really having an absolute blast creating with it. I got my inspiration from one of those motivational posters with the cat hanging on a branch. If it can work for a cat, why can't it work for a panda?!

I first started by stamping my panda, bamboo, and leaf images onto Neenah cardstock with an alcohol marker safe ink. I colored the panda using Copic markers in C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, and C0. The bamboo and leaf images were colored with: E35, E33, E31, YG17, and YG03. I re-stamped all images with Altenew Obsidian ink (I used a stamping platform and did not remove the images). Using a white gel pen, I added some highlight details to the leaves. I set this aside to dry while I worked on the base.

I cut the card base from white cardstock that measured 3 1/4 by about 6 1/2 inches when scored and folded. I also die cut the "Mini Slimline Lattice" by Simon Says Stamp from the same white cardstock. If you don't have this die, you can easily not use it and still have a great card! I just wanted a bit more interest to the background. A white panel was cut measuring slightly smaller than the Lattice die. I added some strong double sided tape to all 4 sides of the back. The panel was laid face down (adhesive side up) onto some recycled packaging that was about 1/4 inch larger than the panel. Three sides were wrapped around and adhered. I added "Captivating Cactus" sequins into the open side, then adhered  enclosing everything inside.

The Lattice panel was adhered to the shaker using double sided adhesive (glue doesn't really like the plastic) and then added to the card base. I fussy cut my panda and bamboo images (Dies are available here) and added them to the card using liquid adhesive. For the sentiment, I used my favorite black cardstock from Hero Arts. The sentiment was first stamped in white pigment ink and then heat set and embossed with white embossing powder.

I think this is great card for someone that needs a little pick me up... don't you think? Thanks for joining me today!
