In a cookie cutter world, Be A Macaron!

Hey everyone, Britney here! I am so excited to be on the Pawsome Stamps blog today featuring a set from the new release, Macarons. This is such a cute set with so many uses; Valentine’s Day, birthday, thank you, thinking of you…and the list goes on and on! This is a quick and simple card any recipient would love!

I always like to start with my background first and I build up from there. I cut a piece of colorful patterned paper using a stitched rectangle die the size of an A2 card. On another panel of white cardstock, I stamped the two macron stamps from the set using a very light grey ink creating my own patterned paper. Couple of tips here: start from the center and work your way out so the design looks like it flows. My next tip would be to complete this step before using a die (especially with stitching), you might not get the best impression from your stamp. I used a smaller stitched rectangle die for this white panel. I really like to add stitching wherever I can on cards. I feel like it just makes the card looked finished.

Stamping an image and sentiment on the inside finishes the card off nicely. It is easier to stamp an image and/or sentiment on the inside of the card before adhering the card panel to the base. The bulk of the foam tape can make it difficult to get a good impression using a Misti Stamping tool. I stamped the inside of the card using images from the Macarons set. At this point, I like to glue my panels to my card base using a strong adhesive and them place then under something heavy to flatten them out.

I used the Misti Stamping Tool and a Copic-friendly ink to stamp images onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. Use your favorite color medium to color in the images. I prefer Copics usually. You can fussy cut the images or use the coordinating dies. I finished off my images using a white gel pen to add some accents. I used embossing ink and white embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment on black cardstock. I used a sentiment strip die, however, this sentiment could easily be cut using a paper trimmer or scissors. I popped up my image and sentiment strip up using from foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Have a wonderful day and make sure to check out all the goodies in the Pawsome Stamps shop
