Rainbows and Cupcakes... Oh My!

Happy 2's (02/22/22) Day everyone! I have a fun rainbow cupcake slimline inspiration card for this special day. I do love a rainbow. I'm not sure how you couldn't...they are just so cheery. I decided to keep this rainbow a little more on the muted/pastel side but kept all of the traditional colors. Let's get to it!

I started with a large panel of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and adhered the star stencil (Simon Says Stamp Fading Stars Stencil) using some light tack tape. I ink blended a rainbow of colors though the stencil using the lightest colors of Pink Fresh inks. The inked panel was cut with slim line stitched dies by Trinity Stamps. This just added a bit more interest to the panel but it is not needed. You can also cut the panels using a trimmer. I stamped the sentiment (Pawsome Stamps Macrons set) using black ink onto the star.

A second panel was cut using black cardstock for a thin matte. I really like the look of rainbow with a bit of black. It seems to bring out the beautiful colors. Both panels were adhered together with liquid glue and added to a slim line card base. My card measured just shy of 8 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches.

The Sweet Cupcakes set was stamped with black Copic safe ink onto Neenah cardstock. I really wanted the cupcakes to match the colors in the background. I thought that it would be fun so, I did my best to choose Copic colors that were similar.

I think they are really whimsical and fun. For a bit of shine, I added a strong liquid adhesive and iridescent glitter to select areas of the cupcake (frosting and hearts). The cupcakes were fussy cut (Dies are available) and adhered to my card using foam tape.

Diamond Diva sequins were added to the finished panel for even more shine...You can't have a rainbow without some (sun)shine!

If you are interested in the Copic colors that I used, I have added a picture below:

Have a wonderful day today. Thanks for visiting the blog and stay crafty!
