Sticking Together
Hello! I'm so glad that you are joining me today. I have a fun cactus slim line card for some inspiration. This is from an older release but I love the simple black and white papers with the colorful cacti. It really makes them stand out. Plus, I feel this card is very gender neutral. It's good for anyone!
I used a slim line die set from Trinity Stamps to cut the white and black panels. This adds a bit of stitching detail and interest to the background. If you don't have these dies...it's ok! You can easily cut your own panels using a paper trimmer. Then just cut squares out of your favorite pattern paper. The pattern paper I used was quite simple with the black and white stripes (My Favorite Things) but you could use anything. I added foam tape to the back of the white panel and adhered it to the black cardstock.
Using liquid glue, I added the pattern paper to the black cardstock. This set it back just a bit from the white boarder. One cactus was adhered to the paper and the other had foam tape to add some dimension. I stamped the sentiment on the white square using black ink and adhered it in the middle. And just for fun, I added a little baby cactus. I like odd numbers in my crafting and it is appealing to the eye. But do whatever feels good for you. Crafting is all about enjoying the process!
The finished panel was added to a slim line card base measuring about 3 1/4 by 8 1/4 inches.
Do you change the sizes of cards you make or do you always stick to the same size? Don't be afraid to try something different. You may find that you like a new size better! I hope you had some fun today. Until next time!
