Little Lady Mother's Day Cards!

Hey everyone, Britney here! I am so excited to be on the Pawsome Stamps blog today featuring a set from the new release, Little Lady. This is such a fun set! I wanted to get a jump on making Mother’s Day cards this year verses scrambling at the last minute to get them done. These cards came together pretty together pretty quickly.

I always like to start with my background first and I build up from there. I cut a piece of red cardstock using stitched rectangle die. I found some fun black and white patterned paper, that I cut down a little smaller than the red panel. On white cardstock, I did some light ink blending using a cloud stencil and added some ink splatters for extra interest. This is one of my more simple backgrounds. Once everything was dry, I used a strong liquid adhesive to glue my panels to the card base. I also like to place it under two of my Mistis to help it lie nice and flat.

Now that I have all my background elements ready, it’s time to stamp the images. I used the Misti Stamping Tool and a Copic-friendly ink to stamp images onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. Use your favorite color medium to color in the images. I prefer Copics usually. You can fussy cut the images or use the coordinating dies. I finished off my images using a white gel pen to add some accents. I laid out my images to get perfect placement and popped them up using foam tape. I added some aqua shimmer pen to the wings to give them an iridescent feel.

Stamping an image and sentiment on the inside finishes the card off nicely. It is easier to stamp an image and/or sentiment on the inside of the card before adhering the card panel to the base. The bulk of the foam tape can make it difficult to get a good impression using a Misti Stamping tool. I stamped the inside of the card using images from Little Lady and a sentiment from Oopsy Daisy. I finished this card by adding glossy accents to the eyes and red and black Nuvo Drops scattered around the card. I do this as my very last step but I will smear these drops all over the card.

I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Have a wonderful day and make sure to check out all the goodies in the Pawsome Stamps shop
