Oopsy Daisy...

Hello Friends! It's Carol here today and I'm sharing a sweet card for those times when you accidentally forget a loved one's birthday. Hey, it happens to all of us, right? Please tell me I'm not alone! I used the Oopsy Daisy stamp set for this belated birthday card.

I decided to do a little ink smooshing for this card. It's a super fun technique using supplies you already have on hand...ink and water. You can smoosh the ink onto an acrylic block, or you can just use your glass work surface which is what I did. I also find that ink cubes work best because you have a little more control over where the color goes. Once you put your ink down, spritz it with some water, lay your paper on top and press down firmly. If you're using an acrylic block, after you spritz, just turn your block over and smoosh it down into your paper. It leaves you with a beautifully organic ink blended background.

Then, I set my background aside to dry and stamped those gorgeous daisies. I used Copic markers to give my daisies a little color. Then, I cut them out using the coordinating dies. Next, I pulled out a frame die from my stash and adhered it to my top-fold card base. One of the things I love about clear stamps is you can bend them so they stamp right where you want it. Since I knew I wanted those daisies to the be the star of the show, I decided to bend my sentiment so it went along with the oval shape of the frame. Lastly, I added the daisies with foam squares and a few sequins from the Dreamy Days sequin mix and that finished off my card.

This card was so much fun to make! I hope you'll give ink smooshing a try as well! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today!

~Carol
