Picture Perfect Pals
Hey everyone, Britney here! I am so excited to be on the Pawsome Stamps blog today featuring several items from this most recent Birthday Release. Pawsome is celebrating its first birthday this month. There are so many wonderful sets. I absolutely love this release.
I always like to start with my background first and I build up from there. I used some rectangle stitched dies to cut a dark teal panel and a white panel of cardstock. I blending on a coordinating ink color using the Happy Birthday Background Stencil. I inked darker in the center and faded out on the edges. I wanted this to be subtle. I roughly determined the placement of my images so I could stamp my sentiment. I stamped a sentiment from the Picture Pals stamp set.
Stamping an image and sentiment on the inside finishes the card off nicely. It is easier to stamp an image and/or sentiment on the inside of the card before adhering the card panel to the base. The bulk of the foam tape can make it difficult to get a good impression using a Misti Stamping tool. I stamped the inside of the card using an image from the Picture Pals stamp set and a sentiment from the XL Birthday Greetings Stamp Set (this also has a coordinating die set). I used a strong liquid adhesive to glue my panels to the card base. Sometimes I will put the card under something heavy to make sure everything lies flat.
Normally I use Copics to color my images. I wanted to do something different. Using the Misti Stamping
Tool and Versafine Onyx Black Ink, I stamped on some Canson Watercolor paper and clear heat embossed my images from Picture Perfect and Picture Pals. Then I colored them in using Karin Brushmarkers. I usually used two colors and some clean water on a paint brush to blend the color out some. You can fussy cut the images or use the coordinating dies. I finished off my images using a white gel pen to add some accents. I laid out my images to get perfect placement and popped them up using foam tape.
I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Have a wonderful day and make sure to check out all the goodies in the Pawsome Stamps shop.
