Let's Celebrate You

Hey everyone, Britney here! I am so excited to be on the Pawsome Stamps blog today featuring several items from the Pawsome shop! My son’s teacher’s birthday is coming up and I wanted to make something special for her but this could easily be used as a Valentine’s Day card as well.

I always like to start with my background first and I build up from there. I always like to start with my background first and I build up from there. I used a stitched rectangle die to cut all of my background panels. I taped off a small portion of the bottom of the panel before inking on some light blue ink to match my base panel. Then I went around the edges with the next shade darker of that blue ink. Using that same darker blue ink, I used the Geometric Chevron stencil to give the background a little more dimension. I removed the tape on the bottom of the panel, taped over the blue ink, and ink blended on some light brown to ground my images.

I used the Misti Stamping Tool and a Copic-friendly ink to stamp images onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. The images I used were from the Sweet Cupcakes set (cupcakes, candy, and strawberry), Coffee Besties set (coffee cup), and Playful Pandas set (cute, little panda holding a heart). Use your favorite color medium to color in the images. I prefer Copics usually. You can fussy cut the images or use the coordinating dies.

Stamping an image and sentiment on the inside finishes the card off nicely. It is easier to stamp an image and/or sentiment on the inside of the card before adhering the card panel to the base. The bulk of the foam tape can make it difficult to get a good impression using a Misti Stamping tool. I stamped the inside of the card with images from the Sweet Cupcakes and Playful Pandas sets and sentiments from the XL Birthday Greetings and Macrons sets.

I laid out my images to get perfect placement and popped them up using foam tape. I finished off my images using white gel pen to add some accents and black glaze pen on the eyes and nose of the panda. I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Bday Cupcakes set in the same color as one of my background panels and popped it up with foam tape. I love adding a lot of final details to a card to give it a little something extra. I added Glossy Accents for the chocolate on the strawberry and on the cherry and Nuvo Drops in White Blizzard for the hearts. I finished the card with some clay hearts.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. Have a wonderful day and make sure to check out all the goodies in the Pawsome Stamps shop
