Sneak Peek Day 3: Sending Hugs

Hi Friends! Emily Mydlowski here with you today for Sneak Peek Day 3 featuring the new Sending Hugs Stamp Set.

The Sending Hugs stamp set has the most gorgeous floral envelope design and great everyday occasion sentiments. For my Thank You Card, I started by stamping the floral envelope with VersaMark Ink to a piece of vellum that I carefully heat embossed with white embossing powder. Be sure to get your heat source nice and hot and always keep the source moving around the image to keep from burning/warping the vellum.

To color the vellum, I turned the embossed image upside down and used Wonder Stix a dustless chalk crayon that you can find at your local box craft store in the kids section or from a major online retailer. The Wonder Stix take to vellum like butter and the colors look so vibrant peeking through the vellum.

To keep the glue from being visible through the vellum, I placed beads of liquid adhesive behind the embossed stamped lines and adhered the image to a piece of kraft cardstock and fussy cut.

Using a MISTI, I positioned the “Thanks so much for all you do” sentiment just below the floral envelope and stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink. 

For a little extra pop, I added several daisy embellishments from the Spring Bling Sequin Mix and a scalloped edge border. To finish the card, I added the decorated panel to a kraft card base.
