Sweets For My Sweet

Hey everyone, Britney here! I am so excited to be on the Pawsome Stamps blog today featuring the Sweet Cupcakes set! This card was one big experiment. I just kept trying things and I think everything turned out pretty well.

I always like to start with my background first and I build up from there. I used stitched rectangle dies to cut the panels for this card. The “middle” panel being a white piece of card stock. Before I used the die, I blended on a red and two different pink inks. Then using a heart stencil from my stash, I used the same colors and inked on with a heavier hand. Then I thought I wonder how the XOXO from the stamp set would like and gave it a try. Then I cut a piece of vellum for the top panel.

I used the Misti Stamping Tool and a Copic-friendly ink to stamp images onto a piece of heavy weight smooth white cardstock, except for the cake dome. I had the bright idea that I wanted it to look like glass, so I stamped it on acetate. I tried heat embossing it but I did not get good results. So, I used white StazOn ink and it worked much better. The images I used were from Sweet Cupcakes. Use your favorite color medium to color in the images. I prefer Copics usually. You can fussy cut the images or use the coordinating dies. I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Bday Cupcakes set in the same color as one of my background panels.

Here is an example of the heat embossing:

Stamping an image and sentiment on the inside finishes the card off nicely. It is easier to stamp an image and/or sentiment on the inside of the card before adhering the card panel to the base. The bulk of the foam tape can make it difficult to get a good impression using a Misti Stamping tool. I stamped the inside of the card with a images and sentiment are from the Sweet Cupcakes.

I laid out my images to get perfect placement and used liquid adhesive for my images. I finished off my images using white gel pen to add some accents. I love adding a lot of final details to a card to give it a little something extra. I added Nuvo Drops in White Blizzard to the hearts. Once the Nuvo drops were dry on the cupcake, I put glossy accents on them to glue the acetate piece to the cupcake.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. Have a wonderful day and make sure to check out all the goodies in the Pawsome Stamps shop
