Rainbow Monsters
When in doubt...rainbow!
Sometimes I know
what I want to do on a card, but then the color scheme stops me in my
tracks. For this card, I just wanted a bunch of monsters...but what
colors? So then I remembered...when in doubt, pick a rainbow.
Whenever
I have a stamp set with lots of images, I always start out by mass
stamping the images and sentiments. I load all the images into my stamping platform (I have a Misti) and stamp in the appropriate ink. That way, when I sit down to make
some cards, I already have lots of images and words to play around with
for different layouts. I tend to like white heat embossed sentiments on
black cardstock, so while my stamping platform is out, I just stamp
several panels at one time.
I took 5 of
my little monsters from the Monster Party stamp set and laid them out in
the order I wanted. (Note: I cut off the wings of the little bat
monster so he fit in the group!) Next I colored the images in rainbow
order. (Note: Each monster has a bit of the color of the next monster
to him!) With the coloring complete, all I needed was a bit of a
background (some simple ink blending with some blue ink). I stamped the
"Happy Birthday" under the monsters and added some Blue Lagoon Sequins mix and this card was done. Plus I have lots of other sentiments and
monsters for my next crafting session. (I just store them in the
plastic sleeve that the stamp set comes in!)
