Summertime Birthday Treats and Sweets

Hi there Crafty Friends! Emily here with you today for my first blog post as a Pawsome Stamps Design Team Member! I’m super excited to share with you two Sweet Summertime Birthday Cards using the Yummy Extra Scoop and XL Birthday Greetings Stamp Sets.

Red, White & Blue Summertime Sweets

I went with a Red, White and Blue summer cookout/picnic color theme for my first card. I stamped the images with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink to Bristol Smooth paper and heat embossed the stamped images with clear embossing powder. I water colored the Extra Scoop images with watercolor brush markers (Zig Clean Color Real Brush & Arteza Real Brush Pens) in reds and blues and added extra dimension with a white gel pen. 

I then arranged & rearranged the ice cream and popsicle images to a white card panel…leaving just enough room to stamp the XL Birthday Greetings HB2U sentiment at the bottom of the panel. I adhered the images to the panel with thin foam tape and liquid adhesive to vary the dimension on the card. To finish the card, I adhered a thin glitter blue card stock frame around the edge of the card panel.

Rainbow Everything Summertime Treats

I love to rainbow everything so of course for my second card, I went with a rainbow color palette of yummy ice creams, sorbets and popsicles. Just like above I used my go-to watercolor image stamping process: VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink, Bristol Smooth paper, Clear Embossing powder and watercolor brush markers.

Using a stamp positioning tool, I stamped the XL Birthday Greetings It’s Your Birthday Treat Yourself sentiment to an A2 white card panel with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink. Above the sentiment, I arranged the yummy treats into rainbow order and used Press ‘N Seal to keep all the images together…which I then flipped over so I could add thin clear tape to secure all the pieces. I added some thin foam tape squares to all the images, removed the Press ‘n Seal and secured the images just above the sentiment. To finish the card, I added the decorated card panel to a black card base.
