Sea Life is the Life for Me!

Hey everyone, Britney here! I am so excited to be on the Pawsome Stamps blog today featuring the Sea Life stamp set. I tried to use one set on this card to show you don’t always need a ton of sets to make a great card.

I always like to start with my background first and I build up from there. This card was a little different. I cut a circle out of the card base to make the “porthole” and I used that spare circle to make the scene inside the card. I put a piece of acetate between the two porthole rings to give it a glassy effect. I inked on some waves to the background circle and cut a sea floor out of a spare circle. I colored the floor with Copics. If I had to do it again, I would splatter ink for the dots like I usually do for a more organic look.

I used the Misti Stamping Tool and a Copic-friendly ink to stamp images onto a piece of smooth, white cardstock. Use your favorite color medium to color in the images. I prefer Copics usually. You can fussy cut the images or use the coordinating dies.

Stamping an image and sentiment on the inside finishes the card off nicely. It is easier to stamp an image and/or sentiment on the inside of the card before adhering the card panel to the base. The bulk of the foam tape can make it difficult to get a good impression using a Misti Stamping tool. I stamped the inside and the outside of the card with sentiment from the Sea Life stamp set.

I laid out my images to get perfect placement. I finished off my images using white gel pen to add some accents. I love adding a lot of final details to a card to give it a little something extra. I used a black glaze pen on the eyes. Then Glossy Accents on the glass of the portholes of the sub as the final step.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. Have a wonderful day and make sure to check out all the goodies in the Pawsome Stamps shop
